The community programs department is responsible for a variety of programs to serve the public and visitors, including special events and recreation. The department also focuses heavily on tourism and marketing for the town, overseeing the J. Paul Taylor Visitors Center and working closely with local business owners and the Lodger’s Tax Committee for promotion of the town. The department runs major town events such as the Cinco de Mayo and Diez y Seis de Septiembre Fiestas, manages a summer recreation program for youth, and also handles rentals of town facilities.
