Mayor Pro-Tem Stephanie Johnson-Burick is six generations from Mesilla and is currently serving her first term as an elected official. She is the great-great-great granddaughter of Colonel Albert Jennings Fountain and her great-grandfather, Albert J. Fountain, served as the first mayor of Mesilla. Trustee Johnson-Burick received her undergraduate degrees from New Mexico State University in Criminal Justice and Psychology and has of Master of the Arts in Education. She is currently employed with Doña Ana County as a Recruiter and Trainer. She is committed to serving the residents of this community and doing so with transparency, ethics and integrity. She believes in preserving our rich legacy of history and culture to benefit future generations to come.
